Celebrating Our Fall Senior Athletes

Senior night is a night full of emotions, parents watching their kids in their last season of an important time in their lives. The town seems to come alive. Stadiums filled to the brim, bleachers leaving people packed like a can of sardines.

“There’s nothing like senior night, the feeling of everyone coming to support you is like no other. It’s the greatest feeling in the world,”said senior Jordan Taylor.

The boys’ soccer team matched up against Frankfort on Tuesday August 31st. The tigers had seven seniors that night including, Kameron Skobel, Jordan Taylor, Riley Newman, Zach Perrine, Brendan Ping, Caleb Girdley, and Sam Green. The tigers couldn’t pull off the victory as they lost 2-1 against the Hotdogs.

“The atmosphere was amazing, I can’t put into words what being out there felt like having everyone support us,” said senior Riley Newman

The lady Tigers volleyball hosted their senior night on September 9th against conference opponent Frankfort Hotdogs. The tigers dominated the court winning the match in three sets. The seniors included Camille Deakins, Taylor Gramlin, Maggie Scott, Kenya Sosa, and Caroline Tilford. The volleyball team has good chemistry and has made a lot of memories.

“When my sister got injured, the whole team came together and supported us and comforted me by giving me hugs and making me feel at home,”said senior Caroline Tilford

The tigers’ lady soccer squad faced off against a conference rival the same night as the tigers’ volleyball team. The soccer team blew Western Boone out of the water, beating them by a score of 8-0. The tigers had 5 seniors including Chloe Beltran, Kiersten Dallas, Lily Gascho, Riley Jump, and Irene Ransom. Seniors Irene Ransom and Chloe Beltran loved the support and the energy of the crowd having this to say,

“We had a big crowd full of lots of energy and they showed a lot of support, it made us feel like the whole town was behind us.”

The lady tigers’ golf team has been on fire this season winning a conference and sectional title. The tigers are playing their regional Friday September 23rd along with 17 other schools including schools like Caramel, Zionsville, and Center Grove. The lady tigers have set multiple records this year making this their best year yet.

“The senior night was great even though I didn’t get to play this year, it was amazing to get to see my fellow seniors, not to mention that our team is really close, and that it makes it even more fun and sad at the same time because I’m going to miss it after this year,”said senior Brittney Crum.
