Written by: Garrett Rowe

Although 2016 was a bust for many people, we still were treated with a great selection of movies. Now that 2017 is in full swing, we can finally get a good look at all of the upcoming movies. There are many great movies coming out but these movies are tied to a bigger franchise. Sure, movies like “Thor” and “Cars 3” are awesome movies but they are characters that we already know and love.

movie_poster_beautybeast2017_95e8117fThe original “Beauty and the Beast” came out in 1991 and won two Oscars for Best Song and Best original score. Like many movies today, “Beauty and the Beast” will be getting its reboot. This movie is an exciting moment for many fans, but can also be a worry for some. Being a reboot may bring parts from the story that are not needed but does not focus on what made the original so great. This performance includes great actors like Emma Watson, Luke Evens, and Ewan McGregor. We will just have to wait and see on March 17 when it opens in theaters.
The beloved characters from “Cars” and “Cars 2” are back on the big screen but will it be the final time? Going away from the happy, family friendly tone of other Pixar movies, this trailer shows to be very dark in terms of a Disney movie. I mostly just want to know more about this movie and understand its plot better. “Cars 3” will be in theaters 6/16/17 this summer.

Last, but not least is “Star Wars the Last Jedi”. We still do not have a trailer for this movie, still know nothing of the plot, and still have to wait for the release date of 12/15/17. But if anyone has followed rumors for Star Wars, you will find many different theories everywhere online, all with great support. Is Rey Luke’s daughter? Is Jedi refer to just Luke or Rey or both? After watching “The Force Awakens” and “Rogue One”. Audience members will be excited to see where the characters are going now and what has happened with Rey since we last left off with her finally meeting Luke.
