The Lebanon High School Wrestling team has recently appointed a new head coach Jacob King who is married to Whitney King and they have one daughter Jalynn.  Jacob has been a part of wrestling here at LHS for many years now.  Four years prior to becoming the head coach, he was an assistant coach here at the high school.  While also helping out with the Lebanon Tiger Wrestling Club the past two years.

“Wrestling is something that I have loved doing since I was four years old.  My dad wrestled for Lebanon and was my coach at Sheridan.  He taught me how to become a strict but fair coach.  Overall, I love the ability to be able to coach a sport I love and be an influence in young men and women’s lives.” Said Jacob when asked why he wanted to become the new head coach.

Junior wrestler Camren Toole said, “Coach King is an awesome coach that is easy to bond with and easy to work with.”

Sophomore wrestler Kylen Trent said, “Coach King seems to be putting out a lot of effort to help our team. We have started preseason conditioning to get us in shape so when the season starts we can get right to the moves and become better wrestlers.”

Senior wrestler Evan Bocock said, “he is a good coach and has a great personality. I think he is a good match for our program because of the experience level he has and can really help the new kids that come in.”

As the season is still a couple months away, they have already started conditioning. They condition throughout the week after school to really get prepared for their upcoming. season.

As a team, King said, “Our first goal will be to win conference while gaining momentum heading into the state tournament.”

As a Coach King said, “his goal for this season is to create a fun but competitive atmosphere for the wrestlers.”
