Almost all of us dream of the day we turn 18. We are finally considered adults, we are almost done with high school and it just feels good knowing that you are 18.

Being 18, you can do things that your parents do. Taxes, open a bank account in your own name, serve on a jury and vote. Many of those things may not seem like a big deal, but in reality they are.

Voting is such an important part of our government, and at 18, you can get your voice out there.

As the future, it is our chance to shape what we want our country to look like. By voting, we are shaping our future. If you do not agree with a current law, you have the power to vote for someone you agree with

In the USA, we are lucky to have a democracy, which allows us to vote for our elected representatives. Many countries do not have the same opportunity as we do. We have the chance to voice our opinions and concerns, and vote for someone who can represent what we believe in.

Your vote matters! You could be the make or break of someone winning an election. Even if you may feel like you are just one person, your vote matters, a lot.

Voting also keeps you in the loop. Have you ever sat in history and then your teacher is talking about current events and you just feel so lost? If you vote, you are bound to look up candidates, what they stand for, what party they are and anything that they are in the media for. Just by voting, you know more about current events.

The best part, registering to vote is quick and easy! It does not take long to register, it is easy and it is free.

To register you can head to indianavoters.in.gov and from there you will need to:
