As the Tigers played their game against Tri-West, the roaring Tigers won scoring 1-0 which determined which Sagamore conference team won conference.
The boy’s soccer team here at Lebanon High School was named Sagamore conference champions. The boy’s soccer team’s recorded was 11-7 overall, while being 6-1 in conference.
Ethan Neihart, a junior at LHS, has been playing soccer for 5 years. He was very proud of his team for winning conference and loved how all their hard worked payed off. Neihart was named man of the match for 5 games, and 3 out of the 5 games were conference matches.
“I am very proud of everything that this team has accomplished this year. My favorite game this season and the most exciting game was Frankfort. Frankfort is always a huge rivalry game for us. I was so happy that we beat Frankfort 3-2. I’ve never been more excited,” said Neihart.
Drew Cosgray, also a junior at LHS, has been playing soccer for only a year now. He plays the position right back for the Tigers. His goals for his senior year next year are to win conference again, win their first sectional, and also win their Lebanon invite tournament.
Cosgray said, “I am very proud of my team. It feels so good to be conference champions. It was our goal the whole season to win conference, and to achieve that goal was very exciting.”
Julio Maldonado, a senior at LHS, has been playing soccer for 4 years. His position is attacking midfielder on the team. He still plans on playing pick up games with his friends after high school.
Maldonado said, “It felt great to win conference this year, our class was the first class to win conference 2 years in a row. That made this year super special to know that we were the first class to do that.”
Not only are the boys on the soccer team are proud of their accomplishment of being conference champions, but the students and the stuff at LHS are proud of them as well.
