Deodorant is a highly important tool when it comes to personal hygiene, but have you ever had to worry about retracting skin rashes and chemical burns from the brand of deodorant you were using? Recently, the skin of hundreds and thousands of individuals is reacting to the popular Procter and Gamble’s Old Spice Deodorant.
However, this has been an ongoing action to old spice deodorant. Many men and women who use Old Spice deodorant claims that they are suffering from skin rashes and chemical burns by using their products. The popular brand now faces a major class-action lawsuit that names 12 Old Spice products as potentially dangerous and defective. Moreover, according to blackdoctor.org, the Old Spice lawsuit seeks at least $25,000 in damages per victim.
The suit claims that these twelve Old Spice deodorant products are causing rashes, irritation, burning and discomfort among other unreported symptoms from using the deodorant. After Hours, Pure Sport, Arctic Force, Bearglove, Lion Pride, Swagger, Fresh High Endurance, Aqua Reef, Classic Fresh, Fiji, Wolfhorn and Champion are the names of all Old Spice deodorants that are causing these symptoms.
Senior Madison Wirey has purchased Old Spice Deodorant for many years now and has had no complications with it until recently. Wirey broke out in several painful chemical burns that caused her a lot of discomfort.
“I first noticed a skin rash but I kept applying the deodorant, thinking nothing of it. It got worse to where I could not lift my arms due to the chemical burns I got. I have had the burns for three weeks now,” said Wirey.
Currently Old Spice is still under lawsuit as many individuals continue to have reactions to their products. Their sales have slipped since the outbreak and their sales continue to fall as more individuals reports such symptoms.
“I use the Gel Old Spice, I have always used this deodorant. I still have the burns and I have had to go to the doctor to get medicine because it has not healed completely,” said Wirey.
