Apparently the “basic” people do not get “basic” drinks anymore.  Starbucks has a secret menu that contains drinks that are not on the original menu.  These drinks are made by specific combinations of syrups, flavors, milks, teas and other drinks and additives.

Senior Kieran Guyman at Lebanon High School heard about Starbucks’ secret menu through Instagram. She tried the Snickerdoodle Macchiato at some point and really enjoyed it.  However, Guyman’s favorite drink is still the Iced Caramel Macchiato blended.

“I would prefer the basic drinks over the secret menu because everything on the secret menu tastes like sugar,”said Guyman.

Junior Grace Elsbury has an app on her phone called “Secret Menu for Starbucks!” that shows different drinks you can order and how to order them.  Elsbury has ordered the Red Velvet Frappuccino and the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Frappuccino from the secret menu and thought they were really good.

“My favorite drink is the Iced Chai Tea Latte and I like both menus because they always taste good,”said Elsbury.

Junior Abigail McPherson heard about the secret menu through Snapchat.  She enjoys the Cookies and Crème Frappuccino, but her all-time favorite is still the Strawberry Refresher with Lemonade.

“I prefer the basic drinks over the secret menu because I always forget to order the secret drinks,”said McPherson.

Also, Sophomore Ali Neihart was informed of the secret menu through Snapchat.  Neihart has tried the Churro Frappuccino.  Neihart says it tasted like Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. However, the Pink Drink is her favorite drink to get at Starbucks.

The Pink Drink is the Strawberry Acai Refresher made with coconut milk instead of water.  This drink at some point was on the secret menu, but it has become so popular that it is now considered a basic drink most teenagers purchase.

“In my opinion, the secret menu drinks taste better than the basic drinks,” said Neihart.

There are many drinks you can order from the secret menu including the Lucky Charms Frappuccino, Apple jacks Frappuccino, the Blue Drink, the Green Drink and more.  These drinks can be found on the “Secret Menu for Starbucks!” app, and other sources.
