What is your full name?

Konlie Blanche Westerfield

What are your future plans? What are you majoring in, if you are planning on attending a post-secondary school?

I plan to attend either Purdue or IUPUI and study to become a Radiation Therapist.

What has made this year your best year?

Being surrounded by all of my closest friends and having all of the extra senior traditions this year has made my senior year my best year.

If you could give any advice to the underclassmen, what would you say?

Always stay on top of your work so you don’t fall behind, make new friendships, and be involved in as much as you can. High school goes by very quickly so make sure you don’t regret anything by the end.

Who has been your biggest influence at the school and why? (teacher, administrator, staff member)

Mrs. Schroeder has easily been the biggest influence throughout my high school career. Since I’ve been in guidance for my study hall all four years, she has always been there for me. I am also family friends with her so it’s easy to come and talk to her about anything. She has made my last four years here very enjoyable.

Mrs. Lewis is new to Lebanon but she has also made a huge impact on me. She is so welcoming and easy to talk to. It is really nice to have someone that you can come and confide in at school, especially when you are very stressed out. I am very thankful for Mrs. Lewis and I wouldn’t have been able to get through some things without her.

What class has been the most beneficial for you? Why?

The three year health careers class with Mrs. Hines has been the most beneficial for me. The first year was helpful because we learned how to do the simple things then in second year you learn all of the medical terminology you will need and start rotations. Having multiple rotations is extremely helpful because you find out what you want to do. I love that you get to go to so many places to find what you truly want to do. Third year is the best because once you find your favorite place you get to have your internship there. I am so thankful to have health careers in my schedule because without it I wouldn’t have figured out what I want to do for the rest of my life.

What is something interesting about you that most people wouldn’t know about you?

I twirled baton for 9 years and this past year I traveled to Croatia to represent the U.S. and compete at International Cup against 14 other countries. I recently had to give up twirling because my scoliosis in my back has worsened by 10 degrees. I am at risk of having back surgery so I decided to give it up so my back doesn’t get any worse.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

In 10 years, I hope to have my job as a Radiation Therapist for at least 5 years and be traveling.

Are you planning on playing sports in college? If so what sport and where?

I don’t plan on starting out twirling in college since I have stopped for now but I have thought about trying out my sophomore year to be either The Girl In Black or The Golden Girl at Purdue University.
