What is your full name?
Julie Rose Cupka.
What are your future plans? What are you majoring in, if you are planning on attending a post-secondary school?
I will be committing to the Ohio State University to study Biomedical Engineering.
What has made this year your best year?
This has been my best year because I finally ducked out from under the stress of constant schoolwork and have been able to see that my hard work has paid off.
If you could give any advice to the underclassmen, what would you say?
Stay involved your senior year; it’s the best way to keep senioritis away. The lack of motivation only starts to hit you when you stand still, so stay busy and don’t forget that colleges and jobs can rescind your offer of admissions or employment if your last semester of grades tank.
Who has been your biggest influence at the school and why? (teacher, administrator, staff member)
Mr. Conrad has been my biggest influence at school because he and the band program in general have given me a huge outlet for irritation and stress, through music and the marching band.
What class has been the most beneficial for you? Why?
Multivariable Calculus has taught me how to persist in the face of difficulty, and to seek help from my peers before going to a teacher. Not only did the class solidify my future in the mathematics and scientific fields, but it has given me many communication skills and helped me to realize that I am not self-sufficient, and I need to ask people for help in order to succeed.
What is something interesting about you that most people wouldn’t know about you?
If money had no effect in my future plans, I would go to AMDA and perform on Broadway.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Still in school (pursuing a PhD) and unmarried, with 7 large dogs and no plans for children.
Are you planning on playing sports in college? If so what sport and where?
I am not coordinated, so no.
