What is your full name?
Alyna Grace Sell
What are your future plans? What are you majoring in, if you are planning on attending a post-secondary school?
I will be attending Bethel University this Fall where I’ll be playing soccer and majoring in Elementary Education. I hope to potentially double minor in Spanish and TESOL (teaching English as a second language).
What has made this year your best year?
This year I made some of the best memories with my friends. I started my year with a great season with the soccer team and some of my favorite classes included yearbook, Spanish 5, AP lang, and my internship. This was my best year simply because I spent my time with friends and family, involved in sports and clubs, and taking some classes I really enjoyed!
If you could give any advice to the underclassmen, what would you say?
Know what class load you can handle. Don’t necessarily give yourself an easy senior year but also don’t overload your self, you deserve a break by senior year!
Who has been your biggest influence at the school and why? (teacher, administrator, staff member)
Becker has definitely been one of the biggest influences in my life. I met her freshman year, when she was my soccer coach and then I got involved with FCA and the FCA Leadership team. She helped me get involved in theater as I helped backstage and then was a lost boy in Peter Pan last year & junior year I got to have Becker as a teacher for AP Lit. Becker helped me to find my place in high school and provided a place where I felt comfortable and could be productive. She consistently checks on me and knows what’s going on in my personal life. She’s invested in my life and pushes me to not only do better academically, but to be a better person. I’ve irrevocably thankful for all Becker has done for me throughout high school.
What class has been the most beneficial for you? Why?
Yearbook has been one of the most beneficial classes for me because it became my creative release. I also was able to help lead class everyday, which developed my confidence and gave me a role of responsibility and leadership. Time management was essential in planning, organizing, and creating the yearbook. All of these skills have not only been transferable to my other classes but are necessary skills in my day to day life.
What is something interesting about you that most people wouldn’t know about you?
My sophomore year of high school I started my own photography business. I would love to someday have my own photography studio but even more than that, I’d love to someday be a photographer for a magazine company like National Geographic.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In 10 years, I hope to be teaching Kindergarten and to have a family. I hope that my life will be filled with service and mission trips, as I plan to spend my summer breaks overseas serving with different missions.
Are you planning on playing sports in college? If so what sport and where?
I’ll be playing soccer at the NAIA level at Bethel University.
