What is your full name?
Rafe Bennett Crow.
What are your future plans? What are you majoring in, if you are planning on attending a post-secondary school?
I am majoring in psychology at Indiana State University.
What has made this year your best year?
What has made senior year so great is the freedom that it entails. Having been here for four years there is a certain level of respect teachers begin to pay you, especially if they’re a teacher who you have had for multiple years.
If you could give any advice to the underclassmen, what would you say?
Take things seriously, especially if you want to go to college. The assignments or classes that don’t seem like a big deal today might make or break earning a scholarship or getting into a college of your choice. Additionally, make sure you do have time to appreciate everything that’s being given to you. You have a staff and administration that really do care about what happens to you, so don’t be afraid to speak up or take advantage of as many opportunities as you can.
Who has been your biggest influence at the school and why? (teacher, administrator, staff member)
Probably Mr. Passwater. Having him for three years has really left an impact on me. When I was a sophomore I used to not take school too seriously, but after his Honors Algebra II class I started to see my potential an all the room I had to grow and excel. I attribute a lot of my success toward his teaching style and the care he has for all of his students.
What class has been the most beneficial to you? Why?
Mr. Goodwin’s Honors US History class. He gave almost complete freedom in terms of how to learn and get things done while also allowing every student with a different opinion to try and rationalize themselves by playing devil’s advocate or letting us sort it out amongst ourselves.
What is something interesting about you that most people wouldn’t know?
I like to wake up early to workout and read before the day starts.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Hopefully in a career and field that I find meaningful and fulfilling with some level of financial independence and success
Are you planning on playing sports in college? If so what sport and where?
