College Football National Championship

This year’s College Football National Championship was between the Georgia Bulldogs and the TCU Horned Frogs.  The Bulldogs were favored by 13 points going into Monday’s matchup.

“I thought going into the game that TCU would be able to move the ball on offense and get enough stops,” said sophomore Dax Frost.

After winning the National Championship the previous year, Georgia’s experience in the playoffs would prove to be too much for the Horned Frogs.

In the first quarter of the game, Georgia showed to be the bigger, tougher, and more physical team.  The quarter ended with the Bulldogs up 17-7.  They wouldn’t look back from there.

“It really wasn’t a game from the very beginning.  You could just tell that Georgia was bigger up front.  They ran the ball whenever they wanted to.  TCU looked tired after the first quarter.” said senior Cayman Huntsman.

The first half ended in a score of 38-7.  Any glimmer of hope that TCU had going into the second half diminished after Georgia Quarterback Stetson Bennett tossed a 22-yard touchdown pass to his receiver in the back of the end zone with 21 seconds left in the half.

“After that touchdown you knew things were over.  I turned my TV off after I saw the score at the end of the half.” said senior Beau Burgin.

The final score of the game was 65-7 in favor of Georgia.  Stetson Bennett threw for 4 touchdowns and 304 yards in the game.  The Bulldogs had 589 total yards on offense compared to TCU’s 188 total yards.  A complete beatdown.

“I think this just goes to show how good of a job Kirby Smart has done at Georgia.  They have quickly become the elite team in college football” said Huntsman.
