This week’s 15 minutes of fame features senior Cayman Huntsman.  Cayman is 17 years old and lives with his parents Julie and Jeff Huntsman.  He also has a younger brother, Logan who is currently a freshman here at LHS.  Cayman is on the varsity baseball team and loves to compete. He recently committed to further his baseball career at Earlham University.

“I am really excited about the opportunity to play college baseball.  I love the sport and have always wanted to play at the next level,” said Huntsman.

This past summer Cayman spent his time playing travel ball, hanging out with friends, and working at Seashore Waterpark in the concession stand.

“I had a lot of fun this past summer.  My travel season went really well and I enjoyed having a lot of free time to spend with my friends,” said Huntsman.

Another one of Cayman’s passions is weight lifting.  He says that growing in the weight room has allowed him to have greater success in baseball and with his overall athleticism.

“The weight room has allowed me to take my game to the next level.  Before I started lifting, I didn’t have much power.  I saw a huge increase after lifting on a regular basis.  I love making myself better everyday and I am motivated to keep doing so,” said Huntsman.

As far as school goes, Cayman says he has enjoyed his senior year thus far.

“I feel like I’ve been pretty laid back this year.  I am taking it one day at a time and have enjoyed everything about being a senior,” said Huntsman.

Cayman is excited to help lead the Tiger baseball team this season.  He says that his goal is to repeat as Sectional champs here in 2023.

“That’s my goal, to win sectionals again.  I’m going to work hard and give 100% effort all year,” said Huntsman.
