Cinderellas’ Closet

LHSs’ Cinderella’s Closet is aimed towards helping young women in LHS obtain a prom dress without the hefty cost of a typical prom dress. According to Amarra.com, an average prom dress can cost up to $700.

“It’s so expensive. You have to get it months before if you don’t want to spend a ton of money on it,” said, Sydney Nance.

Nance exclaimed that “I had to buy my dress many months before prom because the closer it gets to prom, the fewer options there are available and the ones left available are normally the pricier ones.”

So, in comes Cinderella’s Closet. Cinderella’s Closet is run by Spanish teacher Mrs. Michelle Sweany. When I reached out to Mrs. Sweany I asked her what prompted her to be a sponsor in the Cinderellas Closet. She said, “I have been the sponsor of Sunshine Society for four years. Cinderella’s Closet has been a service project that the club has had for many years. It’s a pleasure to host it each year, and the Sunshine members are excited to set it up and promote it every Spring.”
