The Swim and Dive team’s season recently kicked off against West Lafayette on Thursday, November, 30th. The boys and girls have been working hard preparing for the meet and it sure paid off. The boys won by 5 points while the girls finished second.
“My biggest goal this season is to break some records.” Said Senior Grayson Goff.
Goff’s been swimming all four years of high school and says he’s really excited for this upcoming season. He shaved a few seconds off some of his best times in the meet and is just milliseconds away from the school records he’s been chasing since his freshman year.
“Our biggest team goal is to win conference.” Said Senior Tim Popovitz.
The boys took home conference last year and are hoping to go back-to-back. Many of their key contributors are returning this year as seniors and juniors, as well as some underclassmen who are making lots of progress. Popovitz joined swim his junior year and decided to come back for his senior year. He says it’s a really fun sport and he enjoys swimming with all his friends.
Both the boys’ and girls’ team have been putting in offseason work and since practice officially started in November, it’s been all gas and no brakes. Good luck to our Tiger Sharks on achieving their goals this year!
