Dave Calabro has been working in our community with students for thirty-nine years. His job was to entertain students and keep the spirit award tradition alive. The spirit award is given to the school who has the most spirit, the loudest student section and the best fans.
“School spirit should carry over regardless of if you are winning or losing.”- Dave Calabro
Here at Lebanon we celebrated Dave and his career with a big pep rally. More than one hundred kids came out to celebrate his retirement. We had the band, football team, cheerleaders, and many students who attended. Some students we talked to said that it was the coolest experience they have ever had and that this brought a lot of the community together.
“I love to see kids getting involved with the school because I think it’s important to have those memories.”- Dave Calabro
Dave had a remarkably successful career; a lot of staff and students look up to him and appreciate all he has done for the community. Some of his biggest achievements are that he has worked with the Indy 500 as the track announcer, being able to be there when the Colts won the Super Bowl, World series, the Olympics and being able to carry the torch two times.
“Whatever you choose to do in your life, it’s about the relationships you build with people.”- Dave Calabro
