This past Sunday, March 2, LHS DECA competed in SCDC(State Career Development Conference). In DECA competitions, competitors take a test about a category, then the person or team carry out a roleplay. LHS DECA took 35 people to state.
Out of the 35 people they took to state, 7 advanced to go to ICDC(International Career Development Conference). That is 20% of the chapter which is really high according to Tyler Dam(DECA advisor).
At state level there are 2500 students competing against each other. The 7 students that advanced were Adam Johnson who placed 4th overall in his category, Joseph Reinhardt who placed 2nd overall in his category, Cole Thomas who placed 3rd overall in his category, team, Lana Haimova and Avi Haimov who placed 3rd overall in there category, and Lucus Parke and Kieran Culbertson who placed 1st overall in there category.
