Two years ago, Ozzy Heath was cast as Christopher Boone in Lebanon High School’s Spring Play: “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time.” This was his first ever role in a play, and he holds very fond memories of that. Now two years later, he is back in the same role at a larger scale. He was re-cast as Christopher in Civic Theatre’s production of The Curious Incident, but now with a cast filled with experienced adults with him being the only cast member under 18 years of age.
“There was definitely more pressure this time due to the larger scale.” Ozzy remarked. There were significant crowds for all 20+ performances Civic put on compared to the three small shows performed at Lebanon. When asked why he decided to reprise the role of Christopher, he was quick to answer. “I have a lot to take away from the experience. It fits so many genres like “murder mystery” and “coming of age”.
Looking forward to this summer, Ozzy will also be making his debut in Civic Theatre’s Young Artists Program as he will be playing Emmett Richmond in Legally Blonde. The rehearsals start in June and are quickly learned in a month for the late July premiere. “I’m very excited to share the stage with people that are just as passionate as I am.”
