ABC’s Dancing with the Stars is back with its 34th season, which is marking a huge milestone: two whole decades of the show. This season promises an exciting mix of athleticism, social media, and fame. The cast features olympians, influencers, actors, conservationists, and more, leaving the dance looking more varied than ever.
One of the most talked about cast members is Robert Irwin, who was the first confirmed and announced contestant of the season. Fans have high expectations of Irwin considering that his sister, Bindi, is a previous Mirrorball trophy winner from the 21st season. So far, he has exceeded those expectations and continues to be a fan favorite while being partnered with pro Witney Carson.
Joining Irwin on the celebrity cast is Alix Earle, social media influencer known for her “Get Ready with Me” videos on TikTok. Earle has continued to improve her ballroom skills each week as she is partnered with pro Val Chmerkovskiy. Also on the cast for this season is Danielle Fishel, known for her beloved role as Topanga on Boy Meets World. Fishel is currently suffering from a hamstring injury, but she is continuing to stay determined and push through the pain. She is partnered with pro Pasha Pashkov.
Stars Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt from reality television show The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives are also entering into the ballroom this season. More of the cast includes Jordan Chiles, Hilaria Baldwin, Elaine Hendrix, Dylan Efron, Scott Hoying, and Andy Richter.
One more exciting addition is being made to the ballroom this season as a new pro, Jan Ravnik, makes his debut. He is a former dancer on Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour, and he has been paired up with Jen Affleck.
The cast also included Baron Davis and Corey Feldman, but their journey ended on Week 2’s “One Hit Wonder” night with the double elimination. Also eliminated is Lauren Jauregui on Week 3’s “TikTok Night,” leaving the entire cast and fans all in shock. Jauregui was a member of the girl pop band, Fifth Harmony, however many didn’t know her otherwise, some didn’t even know her name. This could explain why she was eliminated because even though she was a great dancer, fans’ votes play a huge role in the elimination in addition to scores.
As we head into Week 4’s “Disney Night,” fans are anticipating the reveal of song choices, dance styles, and overall concepts. Watch the show live next Tuesday, October 7th, on Disney+ or ABC at 8pm to see how those dances turn out and who else gets sent home.
