With the most recent news coming out early in September, many Big 10 football fans can finally say that they will be watching their favorite teams again this fall. All 13, yes you heard right, there are 13 teams in the Big 10. They will all be back in action this fall for America to watch. The big ten is split into two divisions, the East and West. Some will say that the East division is the more talented division with many of the perennial conference favorites such as the Ohio State Buckeyes, Penn State Nittany Lions, Michigan Wolverines, Michigan State, and more. The East division is said to be the “lesser” division with teams such as the Wisconsin Badgers, Iowa Hawkeyes, and the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Let’s take a look at potential teams to win their divisions.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are the clear favorites to win the East division. The Buckeyes made a National Championship bid last season. They fell a little short in the College Football Semi-Final against the Clemson Tigers. The Buckeyes have a Heisman hopeful at QB in Justin Fields. Fields played very well last season, and for the Buckeyes to live up to expectations, Fields will need to be top notch for the Buckeyes.

Junior Nick Finney said, “Another team that I think has a chance to compete with Ohio State is Penn State.”

For the West division, the Wisconsin Badgers are considered the favorites. The Badgers lost a lot of talent after least season due to players entering their names into the NFL draft. The badgers have always had a good offensive line and run game. To be successful, the badgers will need to continue their “ground and pound” offense.
