New Pacers Coach: Nate Bjorkgren

On October 21, 2020 the Pacers announced that new coach, Nate Bjorkgren has been hired. He has served as the assistant coach to the Toronto Raptors during their last two season (18-20).

 

“We are very pleased and excited to have Nate as our new coach. This was an extensive and thorough search, and when we reached the conclusion, we felt strongly Nate is the right coach for us at the right time,” said President of Basketball Operations Kevin Pritchard.

 

Bjorkgren was born in Iowa and grew up playing basketball. He played basketball in high school and college for South Dakota in 1994 and later for Buena Vista University. He has coached at the high school, college, and professional levels; coaching the Phoenix Suns in their summer league and the Toronto Raptors as assistant coach.

 

“I am honored to take on the role of head coach of the Indiana Pacers. This is something I have prepared for during my career. I’m looking forward to working with this great team to achieve our goal as NBA Champions,” said Bjorkgren.
