Every winter, Dull’s Tree farm transforms into a great winter wonderland, providing beautiful Christmas trees to lighten up houses all over lebanon. These grand trees require a lot of manufacturing, as they have to be shaken down, trimmed and put through a baler before families can take them home. Many of our Lebanon students take part in working there during the holiday season. One tiger worker currently at Dull’s is junior Joshua Parks, who has been working there for three years now. Josh enjoys working with many friends at Dull’s, and when asked about the atmosphere out at the tree farm, he said “It’s a real jolly place.” Josh’s main companion is his best friend Sam Hornbecker, who is a fellow junior at LHS.
This is also Sam’s third year working at Dull’s, and he enjoys working there simply for the paycheck. He described the weekends as “very physically demanding” saying “I literally just lift trees up and down all day”. His job consists primarily of lifting the trees, and he goes through over 100 trees per day. Sam also agreed with his friend Josh and said “working with friends is one of the most fun parts of working.” Trees of all sizes have sold out fast, as these festive trees light up the winter season with Christmas cheer as the day grows near.
