Last week, some LHS FFA Members attended the FFA National Convention! Two members are Lauren Argotte, Treasurer, and Isaac Thompson, President. At the Convention they attended sessions, competed with their teammates, talked to other members of FFA, and visited convention shop centers. Also at the Convention, LHS Alumni, Aaliyah Carlisle, placed 5th out of thousands of competitors in the employability skills category. FFA teachers, Miss McFauls and Miss Lee stated that watching Aaliyah place was the best memory made last week.
“My favorite part of this weekend was competing with my team and meeting new people from across the nation,” said junior Lauren Argotte, Treasurer.
President Isaac Thompson had a great time at the Convention as well. His advice for current and upcoming members of FFA is to “be open to new experiences and opportunities.” When Isaac graduates, he will miss the connections he’s made through the program and meeting new people the most.
Aside from the hard work put into the week, FFA members and teachers got to have some fun experiences. They got to watch the Lainey Wilson concert, eat free Culver’s, and meet people from all over the nation.
“We had such a fun week,” said Miss McFauls.
