Careful Winter Driving Surviving

From slipping and sliding on the ice, to sliding off the road, driving during the winter can be a real struggle. Wintertime can be a scary time to drive and causes a lot more crashes due to ice or people not paying attention. It’s important to be a safe and defensive driver while driving during winter time.

Senior Mason Crew said, “I’m not ready for the cold weather.”

Some People aren’t ready for the weather to change. With cold temperatures rolling in, (the icier the roads are going to become) which becomes a safety hazard.

SRO Hawkins said, “Yes, everyone zones out sometimes while driving, it’s the main cause of crashes.”

Driving during the winter requires people’s full attention and needs to be taken seriously by anyone who drives.

“Make sure you have good tires.” Said Mrs. Jana Langebartels

While winter approaches, people who have been driving for a while have tips for new drivers who aren’t used to the winter, and many have good advice to help keep new drivers safe.

Senior Mason Crew said, “Drive slowly and take turns slowly.”

Ice on the roads can make a person’s car drift and it can be hard to get the car back in control, that’s the reason it’s essential to take turns slower than usual and not to speed on the road.

SRO Hawkins said, “Always check your car, have plenty of gas, and keep a winter kit, such as a shovel and blanket in your car.”
