Senior year is full of incredible moments such as getting ready for college, experiencing senior activities, and many different events just for seniors. Despite this, it can get stressful a lot of the time because of how busy seniors are, yet it is often not recognized. This transition into senior year often has a heavy academic workload, college applications, financial aid, and working to afford all the things you may need for college. It can often feel overwhelming with the amount of obligations to fulfil your future after high school making your time feel scarce. Therefore, these all can lead to procrastination and disengagement in your studies.
“At Lebanon High School, student Emma Browning responded with her experience, “The most stressful thing about senior year is being busy in every aspect of in-school and out-of-school activities.”
The best way to deal with stress is to consider various opinions that may help your work load. One way is maintaining personal praise after you complete a task. Which could be an application, scholarship, or even just finishing homework. Keep in mind that despite the stress, you must maintain a balanced schedule by keeping up with sleep schedule, hygiene, nutrition, and a decent amount of light physical activity. These routines keep your body regulated and even can help decrease anxiety when dealing with senior stresses. Furthermore, your counselors can offer assistance in your application process, filling out financial aid, and even are helpful when you feel the strain of senior year. Overall, despite the difficult year, it is beneficial to stay involved and enjoy the last year of high school instead of worrying about the future.
